Samuel R. Wynn

Samuel R. Wynn, 91, was called home to the Lord on January 26, 2025. He was born in Parkersburg, WV on April 1, 1933, to the late Raymond J. and Laura Gene Wentz Wynn. He was CEO and owner of Electronic Design for Industry, Inc. (EDI), a company he founded and incorporated in 1982. He was always interested in design engineering and developed and received a Patent for the Differential Control System (DCS), a device that revolutionized plunger lift production of oil and gas wells. He sold the company and retired in 2007.
A graduate of Marietta High School in 1951, he served as an MP with rank of Corporal in the US Army from 1953 – 1955. After the service, he worked for Gustav Hirsch and installed electronic communications all over the United States, including California, Roswell, NM, Alaska, Cape Canaveral and the Bahama Islands.
Sam is survived by his son, Richard Wynn (Tracey), of Fleming, Ohio; two stepdaughters; Vickie Todd, of Scottsdale, Arizona and Julie Casto of Marietta, Ohio; Daughter-In-Law Carmella Wynn. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Darlene Coe and Joan Anderson; one brother, Neil Wynn.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nancy Wynn, son William “Bill” Wynn and his grandsons, Samuel and Colt Wynn.
