It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, Charles William ("Bill") Wright, who left us on February 27, 2025 at the age of 96. Bill was born on June 26, 1928 to Virgie (nee Matthew) Wright and Lloyd Benjamin Wright in Waterford, Ohio.
He is survived by daughters, Nancy (Bill) Holt of Westlake, Ohio and Elizabeth ("Beth") Wright of South Elgin, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth ("Betty") (nee Klapp); son Terrence ("Terry"); brothers Robert (Alice), Rodney (Wenonah), Jack (Genieve), Orville ("Ted"), Lloyd Benjamin, Jr., and Wilbur, and sisters Helen (Elmer) Spung and Margaret (Chuck) Roberts, and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and in 1952 married Betty in Rocky River, Ohio. Bill's career as a Sales and Marketing executive for several large companies led him and his family to relocate to Glen Ellyn, IL; Farmington, MI; Pittsburgh, PA; Columbus, IN; and Cheshire, CT as he worked his way up the corporate ladder. He retired in 1989 and moved with Betty back to Rocky River, Ohio where he enjoyed golfing, gardening, woodworking, and traveling.
Visitation will be held at the McGorray-Hanna Funeral Home, 25620 Center Ridge Rd., Westlake, Ohio 44145 on Tuesday, March 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow at the Lakewood Park Cemetery in Rocky River, Ohio.
