Michael D. “Mike” Reed

Michael D. “Mike” Reed, 77, of Marietta, OH, passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born June 27, 1947 in Marietta to the late William and Alma Miller Reed. Mike graduated from Marietta High School in 1965 and served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Big Bear and Giant Eagle and was a member of the American Legion Post #64. Mike was a long time suffering Browns fan as well as a Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He is survived by his wife Nancy Furr Reed whom he married September 11, 1986, daughter Lauren Nichole Reed, son Michael C. “Chris” Reed, grandchildren Erin and Merideth and a sister Kim (Jeff) Backus. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Leigh Ann Reed and a brother David Reed. Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 30th from 2-4 PM followed by military honors at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta.
