Clayton “Troy” Lamp, Newport, OH, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, at home following a difficult battle with cancer. Born on November 2, 1967, in Marietta, OH, he was a son of James Lamp and the late Patricia Binegar Lamp. He was a 1986 graduate of Frontier High School and worked for Pioneer Chevrolet for 38 years. He was involved in various sports throughout his lifetime and especially looked forward to yearly fishing trips to Georgia.
Survivors other than his father include a daughter, Carrie (Hunter) Knowlton, New Matamoras; one granddaughter, Evelyn Elizabeth “Evie” Lamp; one brother, David (Tonda) Lamp, Newport; one sister Sharon (Craig) Henegar, Belmont, WV; sisters-in-law, Barb Lamp, and Christy Lamp; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and a lifelong friend, Danny Holdren, Newport. He was preceded in death by his mother, two brothers, Steve and Mike, and one son, Corey Braden Lamp.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Preacher Jason Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in Newport Cemetery.
