Jessie A. Garvin

Jessie A. Garvin, 84, of Beverly, Ohio, died on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville, Ohio. She was born on April 10, 1941, in Morgan County, daughter of Harold Richard Combs and Faunna Phillis Combs. Jessie graduated from M&M High School and was a wonderful homemaker to her family for many years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and she loved to play bingo and go on field trips to The Wilds and other places while at Highland Oaks. She loved her family and grandchildren and loved all the holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween. Jessie was a very outgoing person and she never met a stranger. On September 12, 1958, she was married to Dana John Garvin who died on September 2, 2018. She is survived by a daughter, Betty Lang of Beverly; four sons, Dana Garvin of Beverly, Mike Garvin of Beverly, David Garvin and wife Lisa of Lowell and Robert Garvin of Beverly; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and two sisters in law, Alice Barnhart and Buela Parcell. Jessie was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two sisters, Faye McFerren and Norma Woodburn.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 1:00 pm at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor Greg Marquis officiating. The burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Friday. The family of Jessie would like to thank Highland Oaks Health Center and Shrivers Hospice for their wonderful care of Jessie for the last few years.
