Larry Edward Richards, 79, of Cutler, OH, passed away April 17, 2025, at his residence.

He was born September 19, 1945, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Harley Roy Richards and Bernice Irene (Weaver) Richards Wade.

Larry was a 1963 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He had retired after 35 years as a supervisor for the Human Resource Development Foundation. He was a member of Lynn Street Church of Christ and former member of Belpre Church of Christ. Larry was very active in church and served as an usher and greeter. He enjoyed playing Poker, hunting and saltwater fishing. He loved riding and caring for horses. Larry was a huge WVU fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sue Boyd Richards; his children Shane Richards (Amy), of Cutler and Vanessa Richards (John Tingler), of Palmetto, FL; grandchildren Brant, Kent, Drew and Lennon; sister Karen Gorrell (Mike); good friends Mike and Cindy Inman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Bob Richards (May) and sister Connie Harlow.

The family would like to thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice, nurse Emily Seaman and caregiver Jill Byers for all of their wonderful care and support.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Tuesday April 22, 2025, at the Leavitt Funeral Home Belpre, with Ron Laughery and Brian Grubbs officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday 2-4 and 6-8 pm and 12-1 pm on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Humane Society of Parkersburg, 530 29th St., Parkersburg, WV 26101.
