Patricia G. Shawd died on April 5, 2025, at her home in Bartlett.

Patty was born February 14, 1931, in Bartlett to Don R. and Josephine Keny Goddard. She was the youngest of four daughters. She co-owned Goddard-Shawd Insurance Agency with her husband, James W. Shawd, for over 30 years.

She is survived by her children: Michael J Shawd (Jill) of Barlow, William G. Shawd (Kristin) of Hudson, Ohio, Cynthia S. Shawd of Jackson, Ohio, and Susan E. Stockmeister (Alan) of Jackson, Ohio; her grandchildren: Elliott C. Shawd (Meliha) of Kansas City, Kansas, Adam B. Shawd (Colleen) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Cameron W. Winchester (Aivana) of Port Ewen, New York, Quentin(Kip) S. Winchester (Caitlin) of Jackson, Ohio, Josephine(JoBeth) E. McGuire (Tyler) of Columbus, Ohio, Brian R. Shawd of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Emilly E. Shawd of Hudson, Ohio; her step-grandchildren: Aaron Stockmeister, of Cincinnati, Cora Willett (Josh), of Jackson Ohio and Seth Stockmeister (Lindsey) of Jackson, Ohio; her great-grandchildren; Tatum Winchester and Samara Shawd. Her step-great-grandchildren; Ella and Lea Willett, Alana, Katryn, Breanna Stockmeister and Jocelyn Stockmeister. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over 50 years, James, and her sisters, Eleanor, Mary Ruth, and Janet.

Patty lived a long and very active life. She is the last of her generation in the family. She enjoyed life and frequently uttered “My cup runneth over”. She will be forever missed.

The family especially thanks Randa Mayle who selflessly cared for Patty over the past several months.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM April 19, 2025, at Warren High School Gymnasium with a reception following.
