Michael Duane Mullenix

Mullenix

Michael Duane Mullenix, 69, of Graysville, OH, passed away Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, at his home. Mike was born in Massillon, OH, on March 20th, 1956, to Winona (Nonie) Mullenix and the late Thomas D (Hezzie) Mullenix.

In high school Mike was a member of the FFA, on the wrestling and baseball teams, and loved spending time with a girl named Sue. She was his everything, the love of his life, who he married in 1975. In his younger years he liked to ride dirt bikes and hunt when he wasn’t spending time with Sue and his two children. He worked as a concrete finisher before starting his own business with his father in 1996. They bought the meat shop and gave it the family name, Mullenix’s Meat Processing. The business is still owned and operated by family members. Mike took pride in the business built on the reputation of quality, honesty, and hard work. They will continue to treat customers like family. If he wasn’t working at the shop, you could probably find him on a ball field cheering on one of his grandkids (or maybe in a gym) depending on the season.

He loved to be outdoors; he was an avid coon hunter. There were few things he enjoyed more than taking the dogs out on a pretty evening and soaking in God’s creations. He was also known to load up the dogs, and the guys, and spend a weekend together travelling to a competition hunt.

He also liked to deer, squirrel, and even rabbit hunt in his younger years. His family was his pride and joy! He loved nature! He enjoyed mountains, where you could see for miles. He liked cool weather, a beautiful sunrise or sunset (with his sweetie by his side), the Cincinnati Reds and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Mike was a man of faith, a Christian and worshipped with the members of the Merrills Ridge Church of Christ. He was the first one we called when we needed advice, or a hand, and he was always there. He was giving and loving, and loyal. He was so loved and will be so greatly missed.

Mike is survived by his wonderful wife of 50 years Bonnie (Sue) Mullenix whom he married on April 5th 1975; his daughter Chrissie (Daniel) Hayes (and Shaeli) of Fleming OH; and son Brandon (Amy) Mullenix (Cole and Alli) also of Fleming Ohio; grandchildren Dalton Clay (Cailyn) Hayes (and Brynnleigh) of Whipple Ohio, Brock (Hailey) Hayes of Fleming Ohio, and Kryssa (Gage) Treadway of Marietta Ohio; great-granddaughter Brynnleigh Hayes and his mother Winona (Nonie) Mullenix. He was preceded in death by his brother Eddie Mullenix and father Thomas (Hezzie) Mullenix. Funeral services will be held 4 PM Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St. Marietta, OH., with Tom Fagan officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 PM until the time of service at 4 PM. Online condolences may be made at www.hadleyfh.com.
