Nellie M. Welling

Nellie M. Welling, 95, formerly of Waverly, WV died Friday May 16, 2025 at Harmar Place in Marietta, OH. She was born in Caldwell, OH a daughter of the late Harry T. and Ruby E. (Gates) Clark.

She worked at Cleveland Graphite-Brass in Caldwell for a few years and was also an In-Home Caregiver. She was a member of Central Christian Disciples of Christ in Marietta for over sixty years, where she served as an elder and on various committees. She enjoyed bowling, quilting, gardening, and was an avid reader.

She is survived by two daughters Brenda Lee (Steve) of Marietta and Rhonda Poole of Columbus, OH; two granddaughters Alicia Fogle and Serena Lee; two great grandchildren Aiden Fogle and Hope Bramwell; and two sisters-in-law Sally Clark and Carol Poole Bravo.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Okey D. Welling; five brothers Harry, Alva, Garold, Nelson, and Walter Clark; and a sister Ruth Armstrong.

Services will be Tuesday 1:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor David Carpenter officiating. Burial will be at Middle Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 6-8 PM.
