Barbara “Jane” Leasure

Barbara “Jane” Leasure, 72, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio – formerly of Marietta, Ohio – passed away on June 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Jane was born on May 19, 1953, in Tacoma, Washington. Her life took her to many places, and wherever she went, she brought with her warmth, humor, and a deep kindness. She never met a stranger. Whether it was a kind word, a warm smile, or a shared laugh over a good beer, Jane had a way of making everyone feel welcome.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures – being a mother, a wife, the smell of honeysuckle in bloom, good books, music, time with friends, and loving her people fiercely and unconditionally.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Leasure; her daughter, Blythe Mobley (Andrew); her son, Chad Leasure (Calin); and her cherished granddaughter, Joanne Mobley. She is also survived by her siblings: Scott Hovis (Noreen), Blythe Harrington (Jeff), and Sally Riddle (Richard). She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley King Hovis, and father, Clinton Hovis.

A celebration of Jane’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to the Tozer Hemorrhagic Stroke Research Fund at Ohio State University, to support continued research and care.

“Time it was, and what a time it was, it was

A time of innocence, a time of confidences

Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph

Preserve your memories; they’re all that’s left you.”
