Garen Lynn Griffin, age 76, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025 at MMH.
He was the son of Howard and Donnalene Holland Griffin, born November 3, 1948 in Marietta, Ohio.
Garen graduated from Matamoras High School and served his country in South Korea during the Vietnam War as a Microwave Tech in the Army.
He married Theresa D. Hays Griffin on July 3, 1976. Over the years he had several jobs in Manufacturing/Materials Management. He credited his accomplishments to several people he worked alongside and truly cared for them. He was also a good carpenter and loved working on projects around the house.
Garen is survived by his wife of 49 years, his daughter Ashley L. Griffin of Cleveland, Ohio, grandson, Justin W. Moore (Hanja) of Columbus, Ohio and Justin's mother, Dee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson Troy D. Moore, his grandson Jacob D. Moore, and his brother Merwin E. Griffin.
The family would like to thank the Pleasants County Squad and Newport Fire Department members for their help as well as the staff at MMH Emergency Department.
