Wilma Faye Sams

Wilma Faye Sams, 84, of Beverly, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She married the love of her life, Bud Sams, on October 12, 1957, and they were happily married until his passing on July 22, 2011.

Born in Ripley, West Virginia on October 20, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Hollie Vestal and L. Ethel Bibbee Raines. Wilma was proud to be Fifth Generation in her family and to grow up on the family farm in Stockport, Ohio.

Wilma took care of others professionally as well as for her family and liked to quilt, crochet, sew, and she loved to garden and work in the yard.

She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those who will carry her memory include her daughter, Kenita Venham (Clint); sons, Kevin Sams (Cindy) and Buddy Sams (Janet Carter); grandchildren, Kari Elliott (Wayne), Luke Lang (Shannon Devis), Shana Griffin (Beau), Taylor Sams (Katie); great-grandchildren, Daulton Shriver, Dylan Shriver (Madison Foy), Colton Shriver (Mary), Josie Eilliott, Brody Griffin, Grant Lang, Jackson Lang; great- great- grandchildren, Kasher Shriver, and one on the way, Tyler Shriver; siblings, Jerry of Florida, and Dolores Mitchell of Barlow; special niece and nephew, Kim and Jimmy Rainer; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; special friend, whom she resided with the last few years, Jim Bradley and his family; and friends and neighbors, Fran and Vicki.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Sams; twin sister, Wanda Lacy; great-grandson, Brock Griffin; and siblings, Dallas Raines (Louise), Harold Raines (JoAnn), Carles Raines (Dot), Clarence Raines (Janet).

There will be no public visitation or service. Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist with final arrangements.
