Joseph Allen Remmele, went peacefully to be with the Lord at 12:45 am, August 29, 2025, at Altercare Summit Acres Caldwell Ohio. He was the son of Wilson J. and Oma F. (Elder) Remmele on May 6, 1952 in Marietta, Ohio.

He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Louisville, Ohio 1971. Joe was a member of F.O.P. Pioneer City Lodge #12. Marietta, Ohio. Joe held several positions within the department from 1974 until his retirement on June 30, 2000 as the Administrative Assistant, Evidence Room Manager, a Tech. Laser Instructor. During his time as an Officer, he was awarded 1991 the Purple Heart, 1993 Patrolman of the Year and 1994 a Valor Award. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and motorcycle riding. He was a Christian by Faith.

Joe is survived by his wife Judy (Lechner) Remmele of nearly 53 years. Sept. 16, 1972. A son--William J. (Jody) Remmele of St. Peters, MO., a daughter Joanna L. Remmele of West Chester, PA, a sister Marilyn S. Landry of Doylestown, Ohio. A nephew Dr. Joseph Landry II(Marcia) of Medina, Ohio, his niece Dr. Melanie Church( Adam) of Virginia Beach, VA, sister-in-law Sandi Naugle (Bill) and a brother-in-law James Lechner(Melissa) all from Canton, Ohio,.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday (Sept. 2) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home followed by cremation. Family will greet friends before the service from 9 until 11.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Marietta Home Health and Hospice, Marietta Police K-9 Department or the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley.
