Marilyn Jane Hart

Marilyn Jane Hart, 88, of Marietta, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

Marilyn was born May 17, 1937 in Toronto, Ohio to Lynn B. and Mary K. Gibson.

She graduated from Newport High School in 1956.

She married Robert L. Hart on March 1, 1959.

Marilyn worked in advertising at the Marietta Times until she stayed home to be a full-time mom. She attended Fairview Heights Chapel on Harmar Hill. Marilyn was a member of the CCL Club in her earlier years and was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan.

Marilyn will be deeply missed by her daughters Kimberly Hart (Leona Messer), Deborah Boston (Mark), Sherri Nolen (Tim Stewart) and Mary Hart;

9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; brother Greg Gibson (Sandy); sister Elizabeth McCall and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hart; brother John B. Gibson; sisters Patricia Bush and Janet McGuire.

The family would like to thank the staff of Marietta Memorial Hospital west wing, second floor and Amedisys Hospice for the excellent care.

Friends may call Tuesday, September 2nd from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta.
