Ruth Coulter
Ruth Coulter, devoted Navy wife and mother, passed away on August 29, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was 71 years old.
Ruth was born March 13, 1954, at Minneapolis, MN the daughter of Basil Boldt and Janette (Everson) Wilmert.
Ruth served in the U. S. Navy at the Naval Air Station Norfolk, VA. Upon her discharge, she earned an associates degree in accounting at Tidewater Community College and worked as a tutor and GI Bill counselor at the college. In later life Ruth worked at various antique malls, assisted in estate sales, and worked as an antique dealer. Hobbies include post scripting where she shared post cards with people world wide and boasted of her Marietta, OH community. She was also a viciously competitive “Words with Friends” player.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bob and took extreme pride in her sons Robert (Danielle) of Tiverton, RI and Andrew (Jess) of Columbus and delighted in her grandchildren Zachary and Kane. Also surviving are brothers Steve (Gail), Dick (Carolyn), Doug (Wendy) as well as her sister Barb. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Kent.
Final arrangements were made by Hadley Funeral Home. Services and celebration of life are still in planning stages. Ruth’s family wishes to recognize the services of the Mariette Fire Department, especially the dedicated crews of station 4. In lieu of flowers consider a donation to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, 90 Mt. Tom Rd., Marietta, OH 45750.
