Charles Elwood Thompson Shotwell

Mr. Charles “Chuck” Elwood Thompson Shotwell, age 71, of Friendsville, TN, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at Beech Tree Manor, Jellico, TN. He was born September 8, 1954, in Washington, DC. He was a 1973 graduate of Warren Local High School. Chuck proudly served his country as a Military Policeman in the United States Army. He was known for his adventurous spirit, enjoying fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. He also had a special interest in caring for unique and exotic pets, including foxes, which reflected his deep appreciation for animals and nature.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Elwood Thompson; Mother Mary Rose (Smith) Shotwell; and adopted father, Pastor James Shotwell. He is survived by his children: Jason (Samantha) Shotwell, Nicholas (Kristin) Shotwell, Tisha Adams, and Kristen Adams-Johnson; grandchildren: Jordan, Ella, Layla, Liam and Lily; siblings: Herman (Margie) Shotwell, Tanya Shotwell, Ellareain (Charles) Wagner, Edmund (Annette) Shotwell, and James (Angela) Shotwell; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family who will cherish his memory.

A Memorial service will be held Monday, October 20th at 2:30pm at the Barlow Presbyterian Church. Burial to follow at Barlow Central Cemetery.
