He was an avid golfer receiving several trophies and awards for his golfing skill.

He swam every morning at the YMCA until its closure. He loved working in his yard. In the summertime, you could see how much by the blooming flowers and his immaculate lawn. He loved traveling to basically anywhere that he thought he would like to visit. The First Presbyterian Church was a very important part of his life. He attended regularly and held several positions in the church until his health started to fail. Hank had the desire to help others, and he was a strong believer in education. He started an endowment fund to Washington County Community College for the Speaker Series Fund.

His service will be held Saturday the 25th of October 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church, 501 4th St., by Rev. Michael R. Seely. Visitation will be at 10:30 AM with the service following at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations to be made to the First Presbyterian Church 501 4th Street Marietta, Ohio or the Washington State College of Ohio Speaker Series Fund in memory of Henry G. Goehring Jr.
