Carolyn Sue Hurst (McBride), 77, of Marietta, passed on to be with the lord on November 20, 2025.

Carolyn was born on May 21, 1948, to the late Carl & Laura (Yerian) McBride. Carolyn was an alumnus of Marietta High School and a 1968 graduate of Valley Beauty School. She married Clifford L. Hurst Jr. on October 23, 1971, and together they enjoyed 57 years of marriage.

Carolyn was the kind of woman whose hands carried both skill and heart. For 57 years, she stood behind her chair as a dedicated hairdresser, not just styling hair, but listening to stories, offering comfort, sharing laughter, and becoming part of the lives of countless people. Her chair was a place of trust, friendship, and transformation.

Carolyn will be deeply missed by her children Tammy Clark, Tracy (William) Watkins and Michael (Jessica) Hurst; grandchildren Derek Moore, Jayson (Allie) Edgar, Cameron (Kylee Ferrell) Edgar, Brandyn Clark, Austin (Halei) Clark, McKayden Hurst and Layla Hurst, Hannah Grady; great grandchildren Macie, Myla, Kyler, Malcolm, Ailana, MaeDean, Taytum, Christian and Bodie. Brothers Ronnie McBride and Walter McBride, sister-in-law Sharon Hurst.

In addition to her husband and parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sisters Janet Dotson and Goldie Davis.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 22nd from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 23rd at Roberts Funeral Home, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta, OH 45750. Funeral service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. with Pastor Cara Clegg officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com.
