Otis Ronald "Ron" Taylor, 86, of Marietta, OH, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He was born October 15, 1939, in Kannapolis, NC, to the late Jesse M. and Mary Irene Bost Taylor. Ron served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-62 and then went to work as a Pipefitter for 57 years out of Local #168. He was a 50-year member of American Union #1 F. & A.M. and Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge. Ron loved working in his yard and gardening, NASCAR, watching sports, visits to the beach with his sisters, joking around and spending time with his life long high school buddy Donnie Eagle (Lynda). On November 23rd, 1967 he married Sandra Holshouser in Salisbury, NC, spending 57 years together. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters Paige Taylor of Pageland, SC., and Dawn Taylor (Todd McBee) of Gastonia, NC, son Travis Taylor of Marietta, OH, sisters Martha Sechler of China Grove NC, and Jeanne Melton (Eddie) and a special nephew Jackie Watts both of Monroe, NC, brother-in-law Mickey Holshouser, sister-in-law Judy Livengood along with several nieces and nephew who loved their uncle "Ronnie". In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter Angela Lee and a sister Joyce Watts. A memorial visitation with service and masonic rites will be held Sunday from 3-5 PM November 9th, 2025 at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, OH.
