Doris L. Chase

Doris L. Chase passed away at the age of 102 at Waterview Pointe, Marietta. She was born in Scranton, PA on October 13, 1923, to the late Robert and Susan Shafer. She was married to the late Elmer F. Chase. She is survived by two sons, Robert W. Chase of Marietta (Carol A. Chase), and David E. Chase of Eynon, PA (the late Barbara Chase); three grandsons, Bryan Chase (Joan Chase) of Peckville, PA, Chris Chase of Parkersburg, WV, and Tommy Chase (Mehreen Chase); and two great grandsons, Layne Chase of Peckville, PA, and Wesley Chase of Parkersburg, WV.

She worked in Scranton for the Glenn Alden Coal Company where she bowled with the Glenn Alden Gutter Girls, the Parodi Cigar Company, and the Linden Dress Factory where she served as their bookkeeper. She was a member of West Park United Methodist Church and, later, Embury United Methodist Church.

She had a great sense of humor and a laugh that was beyond contagious. Thanks to the staff of the Women’s Home, Elison Assisted Living, and especially Waterview Pointe for the love and care they provided during the last ten years.
