Nancy Lane Kegresse, 81, a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished friend passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Winston-Salem, NC surrounded by family. She was born December 30, 1943, in Marietta, Ohio, to Clifford and Clarice Broedel Lane. While she lived in many states throughout her life, Nancy always considered Marietta her home.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert "Bob" Paul Kegresse, and her daughter, Pamela Edwards. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Flintom, (husband Clif), granddaughters Lauren Pittman (husband Ryan) and Kate Flintom, grandson Darren Edwards, and great-grandson Elijah Pittman, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Nancy attended Marietta High School and enjoyed frequent visits to her hometown for reunions, to visit friends and family, and to attend the annual Sternwheel festival. She was a member of Reno Christian Church, where she and Bob were married on November 14, 1964. Together, they traveled across the United States and to various countries around the world. Nancy loved to travel, exploring new places and collecting mementos that told the story of her journeys. She was a gifted scrapbooker and treasured the photo albums she made chronicling her life and family.
Nancy loved to attend sporting events and root for the Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State Buckeyes. She was a skilled bridge player and played in her retirement home just weeks before her death. Nancy enjoyed stamp collecting, crocheting, sewing, sending cards, reading, and genealogy. Her education laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning, and she remained intellectually curious well into her later years.
A celebration of Nancy's life, jointly with her deceased husband, will be held in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Reno, Ohio at a later date.
Nancy's family wishes to express their deepest appreciation for the caregivers that supported her through Trellis Supportive Care and Novant Forsythe Medical Center. The family would also like to recognize the many people at Heritage Woods Senior Living for their support and love for Nancy during her time there.
