Robert Eugene Potter, age 82, passed away on December 23, surrounded by his sons.
Bob was born in Marietta on November 18, 1943, the first son of Robert and Elva Jean Potter. Over the years, he made his home in Big Bear, California; Henderson, Nevada; and Parker, Arizona, where he formed many lifelong friendships. Bob was proud to be from Marietta and, in later years, returned there to be closer to family.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a member of the Fire Sprinkler Fitters Union Local 669. Bob enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends and family, and spending time on the golf course.
Bob was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 59 years, Frances Dinolfi Potter, whom he married at Saint Mary's by the Sea in Oceanside, California in 1963, as well as by his parents.
He is survived by his sons, Eric (Jo) Potter and Kyle (Jamie) Potter; his grandchildren, Ethan (Carissa), Lorelei, Travis, Evan, Ely, and Jackson; his brothers, Chuck (Jane), Mark (Evelyn), Don (Amy), and Jimmy (LouAnn); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM January 30, 2026 at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption with Rev. Edward Maxfield Jr. officiating, burial of cremated remains to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.hadleyfh.com.
