Steven P. Hendershot, 67, Newport, OH, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2026, at his home. Born in Marietta, OH, on July 15, 1958, he was the son of the late David Paul and Clara "Cricket" West Hendershot. He was a 1976 graduate of Frontier High School. He worked as a coal miner before going on to work as a server in high-end restaurants. Steven was a server in the following cities, Houston, TX, Bar Harbor, ME, West Palm Beach, FL, and Southampton, NY. He returned to Newport, OH, in 2022 and was employed by the House of Wine in Devola, OH.
He is survived by one daughter, Tasha Hendershot, Miami, FL; one son, David Hendershot, West Palm Beach, FL; one brother, Doug Hendershot, Sr., Newport, OH; two sisters, Jan (Donnie) Wichterman, Fruitland Park, FL, and Paula Hendershot, Parkersburg, WV; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
