Darrell Eugene “Sonny” Carpenter

Darrell Eugene “Sonny” Carpenter passed away on Tues. April 21, 2026. He was born Aug. 31, 1933, in Lathrop. He married Mary Louise Wallace in February 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years; sisters Sevilla and Doris; and brother Robert Lee Roberts. He leaves behind his children, Ron Raines, Katina (Steve) Lescody, Allen (Brenda) Carpenter, and Darrin (Misty) Carpenter; grandchildren, Heather, Nikki, Nathan, Maelana, Mia, Hope, Garrett (Kelsey), Blake, Gracie, Tyler, Taylor, Quentin and Adam; 18 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Funeral service will be Sat. April 25, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill. Friends may call on the family Fri. April 24, 2026, from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
