Patricia Ann Geisler
Geisler
Patricia Ann Geisler, 95, peacefully went to be with her Lord on April 22, 2026.
Patricia (“Pat”) was born March 12, 1931, in Fargo, North Dakota, to Albert and Violet Carlson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Gerald “Jerry” Lee Geisler and by her sister, Hope Weller. She is survived by her brother, Eugene Carlson of Houston, Texas.
Pat married Jerry in 1952, beginning a loving partnership grounded in faith, family, education, and community. Together they raised six children: Debra Ann Rinehart (Robert) of Kensington, Maryland; David Lee Geisler (Sharon) of Empire, Michigan; Douglas Michael Geisler (Carol) of Davidson, North Carolina; Mark Thomas Geisler (Terry) of Matthews, North Carolina; Randall Jay Geisler (Sarah) of Ray, Ohio; and Robert Dale Geisler (Melinda) of Harrisburg, North Carolina. Pat leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense joy and pride.
Pat graduated from Fargo High School in 1949 and, with the financial support of her older sister Hope, attended North Dakota State University. She earned a Bachelor of Science majoring in Mathematics in 1953, graduating with honors and becoming a proud member of the Omicron Delta Kappa National Honor Society. While attending NDSU, she met Jerry, an engineering student & member of the basketball team. Pat loved to recall that Jerry and his fellow engineering students were often frustrated when she “ruined the curve” on exams — a story that perfectly captured both her brilliance and her humor.
Pat and Jerry shared a lifelong love of sports, a passion they passed on to all their children. They spent countless hours driving to practice, cheering from the stands, and instilling in their family both a competitive spirit and deep respect for sportsmanship. Their devotion to Marietta Tiger athletics became legendary as they could be found supporting local teams well into their 80s. In 2016, they were honored with induction into the Marietta Athletic Hall of Fame for their dedication to Marietta Tiger sports and the Boosters Club. They humbly accepted on behalf of the many other parents that were equally involved. They especially cherished gathering family and friends each spring for the Marietta High School Alumni Basketball event.
Jerry’s career first took the young family to North Augusta, SC, in 1953, and later, in 1964, to Marietta, OH. Pat set aside her love of teaching to raise their family, but once her youngest child reached junior high, she returned to education through substitute teaching in the Marietta City School system. After further studies through Ohio University, she found her true calling as a mathematics tutor.
This became one of Pat’s greatest ministries. She had a remarkable gift of patience & compassion for helping students understand challenging subjects such as algebra, trigonometry, and calculus; but her care extended far beyond academics. She encouraged her students personally, attended their concerts, school events, and athletic competitions, and celebrated their successes as if they were her own. Over more than 30 years, she tutored 500+ students. She was a sought-after tutor and rarely said no to anyone. Alongside her family, this may be her grandest legacy.
Pat was a faithful and active member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Marietta for over 55 years, serving on several committees, training acolytes (including her 6 children), teaching Sunday school and leading Bible studies; living out her faith through quiet service and steadfast love.
Pat will be remembered for her sharp mind, generous heart, unwavering faith, and tireless devotion to family, students, church, and community. Her life was one of purpose, kindness, and joyful service. She loved flowers of all kinds, gardening, and meeting with friends. As her body failed, requiring more assistance from the many nurses & caregivers at Glenwood Community and Waterview Pointe, she ALWAYS let them know how much she appreciated and loved them. However, there’s one caregiver with her for over 4 years that Pat absolutely loved like a second daughter: Holli Mannix. The family is eternally grateful for how Holli enriched Mom’s final years.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 401 Scammel Street, Marietta, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike Street, Marietta, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pat’s memory to Marietta Tigers Athletic Boosters, 111 Academy Drive, Marietta, OH 45750, or to Cawley Hospice, 2730 Washington Blvd., Belpre, OH 45714 (https://www.cawleyhospice.org/). Online condolences may be made at www.hadleyfh.com.
