Bernard “Gene” Carpenter

Bernard “Gene” Carpenter, 74 of Vincent, Ohio, died on May 22, 2026 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio. He was born in Marietta, Ohio on May 18, 1952 and was the son of the late Bernard Leroy and Margaret Ann Francis Carpenter. He worked for various Welding Shops as a welder fabricator. He had attended the Belpre Heights Methodist Church. He enjoyed bowling, he was a sports fan, fishing and singing karaoke, especially I’m So Lonesome I could Die and God Bless the USA.

Survivors include his son, Christopher (Wendy) Carpenter of Little Hocking, Ohio, his daughter, Shannon (J.J.) Jackson of Fleming, Ohio, grandchildren, Quinten, Katlyn, MaKayla, Riley, Cheyenne, great grandchildren, Nikki, Tre, Wyoming, Isaiah, and August. Also surviving are two sisters, Penny Hall and Mary Yost, several nieces and nephews and his doggy companion, Tanner. He is survived by the mother of his children, Linda Hewitt Carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law, John Hall.

Services will be on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to services.
