Howard D. Ellis, 95, of Beverly, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026 at his home.

Born on January 8, 1931, in Waterford, Ohio, he was the son of the late Cecil and Laura (Allison) Ellis.

Howard was a 1949 graduate of Waterford High School. He began his working career at Marietta Silos before dedicating 36 years to the Ohio Power Company, where he retired in 1992 as Electrical Maintenance Superintendent.

He was a faithful member of the Ullman Street Church of Christ and a past member of the Sons of the American Legion.

Howard enjoyed spending time with his family and especially loved family gatherings. He was well known for enjoying a good game of Euchre and treasured watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in sports and activities.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary (Noland) Ellis; his daughter, Carole Walters (Tom) of Marietta; sons Dudley Ellis of Beverly and Duane Ellis (Alice) of Watertown; grandchildren Preston Walters, Brittany Walters, Clasey Jarvis (Kurt), Haley Ellis (Anthony), Justin Ellis (Kaila), Joshua Ellis (Ashley) and Meagan Tompkins (Randy); as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents and was the last of nine children to be welcomed into eternal rest.

Howard will be remembered for his strong work ethic, devotion to his family, quiet kindness, and the love he shared with those around him.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 1, 2026 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Evangelist Ronald Laughery officiating. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery. Friends may call 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
