James Richard Corbett

James Richard Corbett, 85, of New Matamoras, OH, passed away Tuesday, May 5th, 2026, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born August 8, 1940, in Bellaire, OH, to the late Richard and Mildred Munjas Corbett. Jim graduated from Powhatan Point High School in 1958 and served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Matamoras Methodist Church, 1092 National Guard Unit in Parkersburg and Powhatan Point Moriah Lodge #105 F. & A.M. Jim worked 30 years retiring in 1999 from the Ohio Department of Transportation as a Bridge Inspector and served the Village of Matamoras as Police Chief from 1997 to 2000. He is survived by his wife Jo Duncan Corbett whom he married February 28, 1965. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Robert “Bob” Corbett.
