Joseph Dean “Smiley” Brookover, 61, of Marietta, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

Joe was born May 30, 1964 in Marietta to Lonzo and Kathleen {Oliver} Brookover.

He was a 1983 graduate of Marietta High School.

Joe worked for Richardson Printing for many years. He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with friends.

Joe will be deeply missed by his father Lonzo Brookover; siblings Nancy Lindsey, Bill (Ginny) Brookover, Donald Brookover and Angela Rivira as well as many nieces and nephews and his close friend Scott Richards.

Joe was preceded in death by his mom Kathleen Brookover.

Visitation will be Monday, May 11th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
