Thurman Kirkpatrick Jr., 94, of New Matamoras, OH, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born November 30, 1931, in Tyler Co., WV, to the late Thurman and Mary Pearl Whetzel Kirkpatrick. Thurman served in the U.S. Army and worked in the Cast House at Ormet Corporation. He and Harvey Dunn were in charge of the tower that provided T.V. stations to the Village of New Matamoras in the early days. Thurman enjoyed going to the Frontier Cougars Softball games and reminiscing about the good ole’ days at Kenny’s. He is survived by his son Roger Kirkpatrick, grandchildren Zachary Kirkpatrick (Corey) both of Newport, OH, Kelsey Carroll (Zachary) of Vienna, WV, and Haylee Buck (Tyler) of Washington, WV, great grandchildren Caleb and Tacey Kirkpatrick, Preston Carroll and Wrenin Buck. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jean Hays Kirkpatrick, daughter Sheri Cisler, son-in-law Edward Cisler and sisters Nancy Kirkpatrick and Dorothy Archer. A private family burial will take place at Matamoras Cemetery. The family would like to thank Arbors of Marietta for their wonderful care and compassion for Thurman.
