Alfred Eugene Trout, “Big Al” 98, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2026, in Marietta, Ohio. He was born and raised in Parkersburg, WV until the age of 17 when he enlisted in the Navy. After returning to Parkersburg, he met his beloved wife, Lois. After marriage they moved to Bridgeport WV where they raised their three children. Al had a thriving career with the Internal Revenue Service, and they were active members at Sunny Croft Golf Course. Al was an avid golfer until he was in his 80’s.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Lois Anne Trout, and two sons, Michael Paul Trout and Patrick Neal Trout. He is survived by his daughter Julie, son-in-law Harvey Arnone and grandson, Javon, of Seattle, Washington.

Alfred and Lois were of Christian faith and members of the First Presbyterian Church of Marietta, Ohio. His sharp wit, determination, and sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him.

A private memorial will be determined at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society.
