Dennis Carl Boettcher, 76, of Reno, OH, passed away May 31, 2026 at MMH following a brief illness. He was born in Summit, NJ, on February 26, 1950, to Carl and Lucille Boettcher who are now deceased. He leaves behind his beloved wife Hazel whom he married July 17, 1999, and a large and loving family and many friends.

He was employed by CBI as a Boilermaker and Welder and retired in 2015. In retirement he enjoyed outdoor projects and the many challenges of the seasons on the hilltop where he lived.

He was very gifted in creating and repairing all things. He also enjoyed reading and was a Star Trek fan.

He was an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Marietta. He was also a member of the Masons Lodge of Delaware, the Moose Lodge 1823 and Boilermakers Local 105.

He is survived by his sister Judy Donellen (Dan), of Orlando FL, brother George Boettcher of DE and his adult children: Dennis Boettcher Jr. (Kelly); Alison Boettcher; Patrick Boettcher (Erin); Benjamin Boettcher (Josie), and Dawn Boettcher.

Also his extended family: Dean Walters (Amy), Stacey Smith (Randy), Hank Walters (Angel), Elizabeth Walters (Steve), Michael Walters (Alicia) and 14 Boettcher grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 19, 2026, at 10:00AM at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 320 Second St., Marietta, OH, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Luke’s Discretionary Fund.
