Michael Kevin Joyce, 68, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away on June 18th at The Arbors in Marietta after a brief battle with cancer.

Born on October 17th, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri, to William and Bonnie Joyce, Kevin lived a life marked by love, laughter, and a sharp appreciation for the world around him.

He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Joyce of Marietta; his daughter, Abby Gehring (husband James, and grandchildren Evelyn and Theodore) of Akron; Susan Joyce of Marietta, his sister, Jennifer Christy (children Richard, Alexandra, Patrick, Andrew and Alison) of Marietta and his brother, Jeffery Joyce (wife Janice) of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Joyce; his maternal grandparents; his nephew, Michael Christy; his brother-in-law, James Christy; and his best friend, Bill Rankin.

Kevin cherished time above all else with his daughter, son-in-law, and beloved grandchildren. He found joy in working on his home, carving down the ski slopes, embracing water sports, losing himself in music and concerts, traveling and exploring new restaurants. Known for his quick wit, keen intelligence, and generous spirit, he was always the first to lend a helping hand or share a memorable story.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
