Nora M. Carpenter

Nora M. Carpenter, 87, of Lowell, Ohio passed away Friday, June 12, 2026 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.

She was born near Harriettsville, Ohio on March 14, 1939 a daughter of the late Nelson and Vietta Love Williams.

Nora was a retired clerk from the Kroger Co., Marietta, Ohio with 31 ½ years of service. She was also a member of the former Order of Eastern Star #429, Lebanon, Ohio and an active member of the Highland Ridge Water Board since 2017.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Carpenter on September 7, 2017.

Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl (Kelly) Morris of Marietta, Ohio; grandson, Brad (Liz) Morris of Lowell, Ohio; a great grandson, Connor Morris; two sisters, Norma Jean (William) Burkhart of Lowell, Ohio, Betty (Gerald) Handschumacher of Belpre, Ohio; one brother, Jim (Sue) Williams of Woodsfield, Ohio.

Friends will be received at the Hadley Funeral Home (Reno Chapel), 1021 Pike Street, Marietta, Ohio from 4:00 p.m. -­ 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2026 where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

Burial will follow in the Highland Ridge Cemetery near Lowell, Ohio.

Eastern Star services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio.
