Marci Lee (Samples) Simons, 63, of Arrey, New Mexico, passed away in her sleep at home on June 10, 2026.

Marci was born January 31,1963 in Marietta, Ohio to Mel Samples and Jo Ann (Stringer) Samples. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1981.

After high school, Marci moved to the Twin Cities, MN where her son Joe was born. She traveled the US extensively with her partner Al Livingstone, eventually moving to Arrey, NM, which was her home at the time of her death. Her lifelong passions included playing her guitar, singing, writing music and gardening.

Marci is survived by her son Joseph Simons of Minneapolis, MN, her mother Jo Ann (Stringer) Drake of DeLand, FL, her father Mel Samples (Janice) of Barlow, OH, a sister Jodi Heeter (Chris) of DeLand, FL and a brother Rick Lybeck (Karen) of Mankato, MN. Marci was preceded in death by her stepfather, Thomas Drake, and her grandparents, Kenny and Irene Stringer and Clark and Margaret Samples.
