Pennie L. Skinner, 77, of Beverly, Ohio, died on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at her home. She was born on August 21, 1948, in Marietta, Ohio, daughter of Alva Jay Gage and Wilma Josephine Babb Collins. Pennie graduated from Warren High School in 1966 and had been a waitress at Plaza Restaurant and Roger's Restaurant in Beverly for many years and while there she met many friends. She also had been the Manager at Village Home Fashions and owner of The Video Shack in Beverly and was a longtime member of the Marietta Legion Auxiliary Post # 64 in Marietta. Pennie enjoyed traveling, especially to Wyoming and also enjoyed Crafts. She enjoyed her family and friends and would do anything for them because they were so important to her. On September 17, 1984 she was married to Greg T. Skinner who survives. She is also survived by three children, Paula Starkey of Waterford, Ohio, Scott Kern and wife Katie of Atlanta, Georgia and Artie Skinner of Marietta, Ohio; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; three sisters, Joy Gage of Dubois, Wyoming, Timothea Fox and husband Terry of Belpre, Ohio and Debra Gibbs and husband Marty of Marietta, Ohio; and a brother, Joe Gage and wife Sue of Beverly, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 27, 2026 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Willie Hood officiating. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday at the Funeral Home and online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
