Wanda Lee Gardner Pfouts, 97, of Lowell, Ohio (formerly of Canton and Graysville, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Harmar Place, Marietta, Ohio.
She was born at Rinard Mills, Ohio on April 17, 1929 a daughter of the late Mervin and Hattie Holland Gardner.
Wanda lived the greater portion of her life in the Canton, Ohio area and was a retired employee of the Bureau of Unemployment Office for the State of Ohio.
Wanda enjoyed knitting dishcloths, doing cross stitch and quilting. She loved to feed the hummingbirds and red birds that filled her yard. She also liked to play cards, especially Phase 10.
Even though she had no children, she believed in the importance of family. She enjoyed visits, going out to eat, phone calls, reunions, and hosting luncheons for her nieces. She believed in guardian angels and always said, "I've had a good life." She will be missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Pfouts on August 28, 2003; six brothers, Wick, Glenn, Willard, Hilliard, Gail and Junior Gardner; five sisters, Opal Moore, Beryl Messenheimer, Garnet Sivard, Norma Jean Rinard and Pauline Brown.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, Ohio from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2026 with Rick Headley officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, with her husband, in Canton, Ohio.
