Gary Lewis Dye, 88, of Marietta, passed away Monday, August 17, 2026, at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was born August 12, 1938, in Marietta to the late John William “Barney” and Freda Rinard Dye. He graduated from Graysville High School in 1958 and went to work for the River Gas Company from where he retired, attended Souls Harbor Baptist Church and was a member of American Union #1 F. & A. M., O.E.S #541, Marietta York Rite Bodies, Aladdin Shrine, Marietta Shrine Club and loved Ohio State Athletics and going to McDonald every morning for coffee with friends. Gary is survived by Garnet E. Morris Dye, brother Lester Dye (Delores), several nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws JoAnn Cline (Alan), Letha Rech, Shirley Felton (John) and a brother-in-law Rodney Grimes. In addition to his parent’s he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 24, 2026 with entombment to follow in the East Lawn Mausoleum. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 23rd from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta. with Masonic and Eastern Star services at 8 PM.
