Hollie Chester Michael, 83, of Lowell, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Rockland Ridge in Belpre. He was born on January 23, 1943 in Belpre, Ohio, son of Hollie C. Michael Sr. and Virginia Ross Michael. Hollie spent 4 years in the US Navy during the Vietnam War on the U.S.S. Krishna as a shipfitter and then worked at Globe Metallurgical until 1987 when he went back to the Navy as a civilian working in Charleston, S.C. and Panama City Beach, Fl. He was a dedicated husband and father, especially taking care of his wife for several years who battled Alzheimer's, being her primary caregiver. His hobbies down south were shrimping, fishing and scuba diving. His hobby here was joining the Rayner's Range which he thoroughly enjoyed with friends and nephew, Chris Michael. He got such joy from his grandkids and great grandkids always making him smile. On March 7, 1962 he was married to Martha Sharon Curry Michael who preceded him in death on June 28, 2018. He is survived by two sons, Mark Michael (Barbara) of Alabama and Kevin Michael of South Carolina; a daughter, Angie Stevens (Doug) of Beverly; four grandchildren, Danielle Stevens (John Rutter), Tyler Stevens (Carissa), Nate Michael and Brent Michael; great grandchildren, Lincoln Rutter, Oakley and Harper Stevens, and Bentley and Bralein Michael; two brothers, Harold Michael and Gary Michael (Donna); and several nieces and nephews. Hollie was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and two sisters, Judy Mahan and Sharon Wellington.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Evergreen Cemetery near Belpre with Chaplain Ryan Clegg officiating. Military Services will be held at the grave. Friends may call 4-8 pm on Monday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly.
