Jane Ann Potter (Karcher), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Marietta, Ohio, on August 18, 2026. She was born on April 5, 1948, at Marietta Memorial Hospital to the late Galen Ray Karcher, Sr. and Margaret Jewel Power Karcher.
Jane married the love of her life, Charles George Potter, on June 1, 1968. Together, they shared 58 years of marriage.
She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Amy Lynne Potter DiRusso, and a cherished grandmother to Isabella Potter DiRusso, Nina Jane DiRusso, and Sophia Elva Elaine DiRusso. Jane is also survived by her son-in-law, Vincent Arthur DiRusso, Jr. Amy, Vinnie, and their three daughters reside in Braintree, MA.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Galen Ray Karcher, Jr. She is survived by many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever cherish her memory.
A burial service will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Ridge Cemetery, located in Marietta, Ohio. A celebration of life luncheon will follow the burial service. hadleyfh.com for full obituary.
