Max K. Rouanzoin, 91, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Elison Assisted Living in Marietta. Max was born on January 31, 1935, in Pennsville, Ohio, son of Mary Evelyn Van Oster. He graduated from Pennsville High School and then served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1957, stationed on the USS Canberra. After the service he was employed at AEP Muskingum River Plant where he retired after several years of service. Max was a longtime member of the Fifth Street Church of Christ in Beverly and he always loved to travel and camp. He was first married on May 23, 1956, to Cheryl Sue Harris who died on October 10, 1989. He was later married to Connie Browning Cunningham on September 29, 1990, who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Donald Rouanzoin (Helen Jump) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Larry Rouanzoin of Stockport, Ohio; Two step sons, Dave Cunningham (Connie) of Waterford and Gary Cunningham (Maureen) of Waterford; three step daughters, Cary Huck (Fred) of Vincent, Ohio, Cydnee Bankcroft (Tim) of Canton, Ohio, and Wendy Cunningham (John Riffle) of Marietta, Ohio; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Max was preceded in death by his mother; his first wife, Cheryl; siblings, Wava Teters, Donna Dutro, Jerry Van Oster, Jeanie Van Oster and Dana Van Oster.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Evangelist Zack Waite officiating. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery with Military services at the grave. Friends may call 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the funeral home on Tuesday.
