Ruby Mae Gebhardt of Beverly, Ohio, passed away at Marietta Memorial Hospital on Sunday August 9, 2026. She was born on October 15, 1945, in Crooksville, Ohio, to the late Donald and Georgia Sparks-Edgell. She worked as a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. Her love of children drew her to the Pediatrics department where she finished her career.
She was a believer who worshiped at the 5th Street Church of Christ in Beverly, Ohio. Early in her nursing career she served at the Grundy Mountain Mission School for at risk children and youth. Her friends and family remember her as positive and loving.
She is survived by two brothers, Rodney Edgell of Roseville and Donald Edgell, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, David Gebhardt, 2 brothers, John and Gary Edgell and 3 sisters, Helen Snyder-Tracey, Donna Euman, and Cindy Edgell.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 5th Street Church of Christ in Beverly. Ruby will rest with her husband at the Lutheran Church Cemetery in Schwenksville PA.
