Joel A. Duskey, 21, of Beverly, Ohio, was born July 4, 2005, in Marietta, Ohio, son of Jamey M. Duskey and Marci K. Lorenz Duskey and after struggling with severe depression for many years he took his own life on Saturday, August 29, 2026. He graduated from Fort Frye High School in 2023 after attending Washington County Career Center where he took masonry and had been employed at Globe Metallurgical. Joel enjoyed cooking, camping, and riding motorcycles and dirt bikes. He had a small circle of friends and family who he loved being around. Joel gave the best hugs, and had the best laugh and told the funniest stories and all will be so deeply missed. Joel was very loving and kind and he had a soft spot for animals, especially Bean, Louie, Salem and Uzi. In addition to many aunts, uncles and cousins, Joel is survived by his parents, Jamey and Marcie Duskey of Beverly; sister, Madison Howell (Jeff) of Gallipolis, Ohio and a half sister, Miranda Duskey of Dallas, Texas; longtime girlfriend, Reese Rohrer of Beverly; his grandmother, Diane Lorenz of Beverly and his grandfather, Russell Duskey (Roberta) of Beverly. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald Lorenz and grandmother, Tara Kae Duskey.

A visitation will be held for Joel on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 5-8 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly and online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
