Richard P. “Rich” Hahn passed away on August 18, 2026 in Novi, Michigan. He was born on October 2, 1943 to Phil and Mary Hahn in Wadsworth,Ohio.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents; brother Phil Hahn, and sister Marlene Redhead. He is survived by his wife, Jan, of 63 years, and his sons Rich Jr, Brian, Todd, and Matthew (Stephanie).
Football played a big part in his life. He loved playing guard for the University of Michigan under Coach Bump Elliott and being on the ’65 Rose Bowl Team. His love of football continued throughout his years as a high school coach in Ohio, with his final teams in Marietta remaining the most memorable. He also had great memories of his Marietta tennis teams.
Although coaching was in his blood, other opportunities beckoned.
He left his coaching and teaching career in 1982 to pursue a career in business in Michigan.
The business world brought different rewards and he retired in 2009 from a successful career with Parker Hannifin.
He will be missed, but he was fortunate to have made so many good memories with those he loved and a life doing what he loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the University of Michigan Golf Clubhouse on Friday, October 2 from 4 to 9 p.m. at 500 E. Stadium Blvd., Ann Arbor, Michigan.
