It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt at age 87 on October 2, 2026.
Suzanne Marie Stephan was born the second of five children of Floyd and Madeline Stephan on March 21, 1939 in Marietta, Ohio.
Suzanne (Suzi) attended both Marietta High School, in Ohio and Williamstown High School, in West Virginia. She was an enthusiastic cheerleader for both schools and Homecoming Princess at Williamstown High School.
Suzi attended Ohio University. She was on the Synchronized Swimming Team as well as a Majorette. She transferred to Marietta College her junior year where she met the love of her life, Stephen Adkins. They were married on June 18th, 1960 and happily so, for 66 years. They have three children Stephanie, Melissa and Stephen II.
Steve’s work took them to Tulsa, OK, Wichita, KS, and eventually they settled in Oklahoma City in 1970. They have been deeply rooted in Oklahoma City ever since. She was a proud Sooner but never forgot her West Virginia roots.
Suzi volunteered with several organizations. She was Troop Leader for both Brownies and Girl Scout Troops at Stonegate Elementary. PTA President at Dewey 5th Year Center and contributed many hours to the Booster Club at Heritage Hall. She was President of Oklahoma City Metropolitan Ballet Guild under Conrad and Joy Feldman Ludlow in 1976-77. Suzi continued her volunteer work as Director and Co-chair of the Oklahoma City Symphony Showhouse in 1996-97. She was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital, and most recently served as Social Chair and Treasurer for the Hawthorne Homeowners Association.
Suzi was a fierce business woman. In addition to raising a family, she was a realtor with Harold Jones Realty. Suzi also owned and operated Standard Decorating for a number of years. In 1978, Suzi and Steve were partners in establishing Adko, Inc., where she was the master of all things financial.
Always up for an adventure, Suzi and Steve traveled to many destinations, including Mexico, France, Spain, Eleuthera, Bahamas and the Turks & Caicos Islands. Their love for adventure started camping locally with friends, their children and grandchildren. Eventually they purchased their lake house, “Suits Us”, at Lake Tenkiller. Suits Us has become the center of lasting family memories.
Suzi left the following note: “my greatest blessings are my husband of 6? years, my three children, seven grandchildren and ? great grandchildren.”
Suzanne is preceded in death by her father Floyd Stephan, mother Madeline Stephan and brother Dan Stephan, wife Rita Stephan and nephew Mark Stephan. She is survived by her husband, Stephan Adkins, her children Stephanie Camozzi, Melissa Musgrave, husband Craig Musgrave, and Stephen Adkins II, spouse Mindi White.
