At the recent meeting of Education Works SEO, many different points emerged. Like many new groups, Education Works is still forming its mission statement and purpose. The one goal that everyone in attendance has expressed is the need to improve educational opportunities for all children in the community.
Positive change requires both adequate and equitable funding and a plan for innovation and creativity. Students deserve no less and the community cannot afford to settle for less than a state of the art educational system. Such a system would embrace the best of technology while retaining the small school sense of community that is so difficult to find in a fragmented world.
Education Works SEO will continue to explore and advocate for change at all levels. The next meeting will be Tuesday, May 9, at 6 p.m. at the Washington County Public Library. Comments and suggestions are welcome at facebook.com/Education Works SEO. Thank you.
