Medication Take Back Day

Medication Take Back Day is Saturday April 24, 2021, 10 a.m to 2 p.m. This is an opportunity to dispose of unused, expired and/or unwanted medication. There are several disposal sites and meds can be dropped off anonymously, no questions asked. You do not have to remove labels from bottles and we will accept any and all medications, including syringes, patches and liquids.

Why turn in your unused medications? Drugs can be stolen and sold illegally, children and pets could be poisoned if they find and swallow drugs and unused medications are environmental toxins, as flushing them down the toilet or sink can contaminate our water and soil.

Please join the Washington County Sheriff, Memorial Health Systems, Area Agency on Aging, RSVP and The Right Path for Washington County at the following drop-off locations: The Belpre Senior Center, Belpre; Corner of Second and Putnam Sts., Marietta; White Oak Pharmacy, Barlow; Fort Frye HS, Beverly; Buckeye Hills/Area Agency on Aging, Reno; Devola Medical Center; Newport Volunteer Fire Department.

For more info on Medication Take Back Day, please call the Washington County Sheriff’s office, 740-376-7070, ext. 0. You can also dispose of your medication anytime at the Sheriff’s Office on Fourth Street.

Help us keep our youth and community safe and aware!
