Right Path provides opportunities

The Right Path for Washington County’s mission is to promote healthy youth development through pro-social and community service opportunities for youth, primarily 6th-12th grade.

In our 18th summer of safe teen and family events we are hosting three mini-farmer’s markets; our first, from 6 to 8 p.m. July 9, Marietta Aquatic Center, partnering with GoPacks. Every youth who comes through the door will be given a ticket to shop at the market set-up outside the pool. We are excited to introduce our youth to free fruits and veggies, many for the first time, supplied by the Washington County Farmer’s Market vendors. We will have a live radio remote and DJ and thanks to the City of Marietta we offer a great rate. Doug and our friends from Wendy’s will be on hand with games, prizes and contests, too.

Family Night swim nights from 6-8 p.m. every Friday, June 11 to Aug. 6, live radio remote and DJ. Iheart Media and WMOA will alternate each week and our summer partners will be sharing info on their agency or business building relationships with all of us along the way. Mike Bishman’s Premier Productions and DJ Pat or Asa will provide tunes, games and fun for the entire family. The Juvenile Court has graciously funded our DJ for all our events. You don’t want to miss these opportunities to spend a couple of hours together as a family, having fun. Many of our regulars have told us it is like a mini-vacation.

Our second Farmer’s Market will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 17 at Civitan Park in Belpre. Jon Neff and Bob’s Market will supply a wonderful selection of fresh produce and we will help you shop and bag your choices. Please share these dates with family and friends and help us make this our best summer to date. Our third market has yet to be set, but we invite everyone to come to one or all of the markets. What a great way to promote health by enjoying fresh produce.

Our I Am Enough campaign continues this summer and into the school year. This helps our kids recognize that they are enough just like they are; don’t let drugs and alcohol steal your dreams. Wristbands will be available all summer

Community support means everything to our success and we couldn’t do it without partners: the Marietta Welfare League, Johnny Wharff, WC Behavioral Health Board, Juvenile Court, Judge Time Williams, City of Marietta, City of Belpre, Wendy’s, WMOA, IHeart Media, Marietta Times, Marietta Community Foundation Unrestricted Funds; J.
