I just completed reading Congressman Bill Johnson's latest "update", which is actually little more than a tirade against Democrats, antifa, and Black Lives Matter. There are so many issues that deserve a conversation, and perhaps we can discuss some of those at another time Congressman, and clearly there are many issues on which we will probably never agree. But as the chair of the Washington County Democrats, I resent that you constantly try to paint us as UnAmerican, when it was the far right who stormed the Capitol in an effort to overturn our democracy. It is the Ohi o Republican party which has been part of the biggest bribery scheme in our history, but gerrymandering has assured their reelection, as it has yours Congressman. But let me point out to you who your local Democrats are. We are your neighbors and constituents. Many of us are actively serving our community by working and contributing to nonprofits, serving on boards and commissions, supporting local businesses, working and raising families here. We help pay your salary by paying our fair share of taxes, even though it often feels like taxation without representation in this area. So please Congressman, stop putting a target on our backs and be respectful to all the citizens you are supposed to be representing.
