MCS need Parman, Reed and Tuten

2 min read

Marietta City Schools need Cody Parman, Eric Reed and Sam Tuten on the Board of Education. These candidates are serious about the future of Marietta and all have the demeanor needed to connect both inside and outside of the schools.

I have eight years of experience on MCS Board and understand the key characteristics of Board service. A commitment to the community is essential as well as a willingness to list to the views of stakeholders. Further, the Board must represent all facets of the educational experience and always do what is best for our students, our schools and our community.

The issues the new members will face will include all of those facing the district today, plus many more. A good Board member must have the temperament to listen patiently, respectfully and attentively to parents, administrators, teachers, students and the rest of the community as they contemplate the issues. Once a decision is made, them must be transparent as they communicate the reasoning behind their decision.

In my interactions with them, Cody, Eric and Sam have all demonstrated the traits needed to be excellent Board members. Please join me in voting for these candidates.
